The Epoch Times International - By Jean-Loup Archawski - May. 15 (News Analysis) - The majority of the electorate seems to have turned to Sarkozy because he promised to restore respect for the law, loosen the tax bite to stimulate investment, abrogate labor laws that stifle growth and employment, resubmit a revised Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe which he would submit to Parliamentary ratification instead of risking a new rejection in a referendum, and seek improved relations with the United States.
