Washington Post - By Rachel Weiner - Feb. 14 (News Report) - In California, a federal appeals court struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, declaring it unconstitutional.

In New Jersey, the state Senate passed a bill to legalize gay marriage, two years after a similar measure went down in defeat.

And on Monday Washington became the seventh state to legalize gay marriage when Gov. Chris Gregoire (D) signed it into law.

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) is pushing for gay marriage legislation, but he’s short a few votes and says the bill needs more Republican support.
NewsTrust Rating: 4.0 average - 3 Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

Christie apparently did not use the helicopter for state business; instead, he wanted to get back to the governor's mansion for a meeting with Iowa donors hoping he'll run for president.
NewsTrust Rating: 3.4 average (not enough reviews) - See Review » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

Corzine's numbers, which have been stuck around 40 percent some time, haven't really moved at all. What's happened, rather, is that Christie has been losing support:
NewsTrust Rating: Not rated yet - See Info » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer

New York Times - By Laura Mansnerus - Jan. 03 (News Report) - New Jersey's last execution was in 1963, and its death row population has shrunk to nine men. Many appeals have been extended for years by a process known as "proportionality review," meant to assure that capital sentencing was not being arbitrarily applied, before the State Supreme Court.
NewsTrust Rating: 4.3 average - 5 Reviews » - Review It Visit NewsTrust | About | Sign Up | Disclaimer
