Social Security officials say they expect an even larger spike in new disability claims than before, as aging, injured baby boomers tumble out of the work force and need income.

The Social Security Administration needs the power to force the states to keep the Application People in place in these times of need, since they pay for it in the first place. Or they should directly hire these processors.
