The article uses opinionated language ("the Global Atheist Convention... had an impact") and only quotes sympathetic sources. It doesn't go into depth about the Atheist movement or religious reactions to it. The occasion of an atheist convention is an interesting news item, but this report only tells the convention organizers' side of the story.

A brief overview of some of the issues that are being discussed at the Convention was followed by a listing of opposition events organized by churches. The article also lacked a link to the AAI Convention page.

I don't think much of articles which emphasize balance. This type of reporting assumes that the author of the article has a clear understanding of the various worldviews. That assumption is very rarely justified.
