A shameful attack on the U.S. legal system

Thompson's assistance to the military officers who had been assigned to Khadr's case seemed to me to be not only part of a lawyer's professional obligation but a small act of patriotism as well. An excellent use of a newspaper of record...debunking attempts to shatter faith in common sense and the Constitution of the US by closet right wing terror mongers in their attempt to slander honest representatives/lawyers.

Cheney and Kristol deserve greater media for their egregious slander from all fronts......

this is important journalism. it illustrates with facts, the length and width of the attacks by partisans on those with whom they disagree-- or see aiding those with whom they disagree, will extend to attempt to distort the public perception of citizens who are practicing legal, constitutional and even exemplary behavior. i only wish the article could have gone further in suggesting how attacks like this could be stopped.

This is an excellent response to Keep America Safe attack on 9 Justice Department attorneys. But when you read of two board members of Keep America Safe, no wonder this attack was used.

America's value system is really in bad shape and this article proves it, not that an attack by Channey could be any surprise. Lawyers must represent both side and to question them is this way is un-American and just plain wrong as well I agree shameful.
