As a third "concrete step" towards world peace and total nuclear disarmament, Niu called for a new "outer space treaty to prohibit all weapons in outer space." He urged the conclusion of such a treaty "before it is too late." In this context, he vehemently criticized the expansion of the missile defense scheme of the US as "very provocative." this is actually a rather funny and sad story at the same time. Or perhaps I should characterise it as an opinion piece (look at how wonderful and thoughtful the CPAPD is -sic-) masquerading as news. This is a non-story. It comes across as a series of muses by Raman, who is obviously willing to give the best possible face on the CPAPD person. There is nothing in this report that has not been said by some Russian, NoKo or Communist Chinese functionary in the past...as Raman said about the ASAT test, "The timing of the test seemed to show that it was meant as a major push for a new space treaty. The critically important topic of nuclear disarmament is critically under-reported in the press. This story narative explores some directions and thoughts from India and China regarding nukes. This is important background when you next hear BushBS on the subject.
