Do Democrats Want to Lose the War on Terror?

There is a genuine and growing belief, as demonstrated by the continuing boom in sales of books like Patterson's and Moore's, that people on the other side of the political aisle are not simply in disagreement or misguided or wrong but genuinely bad people. That notion is more dangerous to the country than all our external enemies combined. Full Story »

This response to Patterson's book needs more "bite" and a more aggressive tone. What Patterson is saying should be roundly and vehemently torn to shreds. It's not enough Patterson tries to silence those who disagree with him and his buddies (It's unconstitutional!!), he also has the unmitigated gall to state, as a fact, that those same people (and that includes me, bucko) are aiding and abetting the enemy because we disagree with him? What exquisite nerve! And the BEST critics of this book can do is, " Gee, Mr. Patterson, that's really not very nice!" Gee, people..grow a pair, would you?

A nice little middle of the road book review. Presents the facts without offering opinion on the books subject.

Joyner rightly takes Patterson to task for claiming, effectively, that all debate during wartime is treason because it gives "aid and comfort to the enemy", but he fails to point out that *both* the Right, with its "all liberals are traitors," and the Left, for its "all conservatives are war-mongers," are giving the most "aid and comfort" to the enemy of all by helping keep Americans divided. Of course Americans would not be divided if we all agreed with the Right, but we would be just as undivided if we all agreed with the Left. Would that Joyner had pointed out that ... More »

The only reasonable response to the rhetorical question being begged by Paterson, "Do Democrats Want to Lose the War on Terror ?: No ! Period. End of nonsensical "discussion". The Democrats do not need to "lose the war on terror". The Bush administration is already well on its way to accomplishing that goal. Paterson's "arguements are worthless. Affording serious consideration to his assertions is a waste of time. Paterson is wasting his breath, but the far right seems to take this presumed propaganda value seriously. But no one else need bother.
