I find it interesting that while I agree with many of the author's conclusions, I don't find this to be a very good piece of journalism. The problem with most journalism regarding the Middle East is that it only goes skin deep. This one does go one layer farther, but you need to have a much better understanding of the history of Iran and Iraq than even this article provides to draw any useful conclusions about what (if anything) we should be doing over there. This article is a good starting point for those who don't know much history, but it's only a starting point. A far more detailed analysis is required.
