Factcheck seems to lean very Sarah Palin Republican here. They ignore the higher level question of global climate change under pressures of greenhouse gasses, population growth, and global commerce growth. In doing so, they buy into the false premise that "Drill, Baby Drill" should be a high priority national objective by focus on this Romney attack. My takeaway from the sparring on this topic was that the press has failed to inform the public on climate change and resource depletion, and Obama could not expound the complexity of the topic in two minutes, so he just played defense against the absurd Romney attack that appealed to ignorance.
