I absolutely loved the personal aspect of this article. After reading the first part of the article I felt as if I knew Mrs. Baillie. I unfortunately still do not really know if she is married to a man or woman and will keep rereading until I find out. That mysterious factor definitely keeps things interesting. One thing that I really appreciated about the article was the message of hard work and dedication when raising a family. If you enforce positivity and other good things on a daily basis most kids would have positive outlooks. Just like in author Lerhman's book she discusses if minorities are fed negative stereotypes over and over again such as women being overall bad at math they are more likely to confirm these stereotypes in their actions. Other than that I did not find much correlation between the two assigned readings and this heartfelt article. To make this article much more credible putting in some statistics or scholarly findings would have helped strength the piece.
