Tax Policy Center Stands By Mitt Romney Tax Plan Study Amid Attacks

William Gale, co-director of the Tax Policy Center, stood by his critical study of Mitt Romney's tax plan on Monday.

The study shows that if his plan were enacted, the Republican presidential candidate would mathematically be forced to limit popular middle-class deductions to pay for the across-the-board cuts. Romney's plan calls for a 20 percent reduction in marginal tax rates, plus the elimination of the estate tax and the alternative minimum tax. Full Story »

This study by the Tax Policy Center is a good initiative of fact-checking. It outlines clearly how the math doesn't add up by closing loopholes and deductions to account for 4.8 trillion in revenue lost from an across the board 20% cut, even using favorable parameters.

An excellent fact-filled article debunking one of Romney's huge whoppers about his tax "plans'. It gives credibility to the old adage: "What does truth have to do with anything?"

If Americans are foolish enough to put Frick and Frack into office, they will reap what they deserve: Bush/Cheney, take two.
