This is a hard story to frame, but I think the Times could have stated higher up that this guy was an independent agent, not affiliated with any mosque or other organization.

The article seems quite balanced, not minimizing the indictment, but also not assuming that the subject is guilty.

It is quite interesting to see the timeline, and the changing position of the US government implied in that timeline.
