Sri Lanka: Noose Tightens Around Online Freedom of Expression

(Blog Post) The Sri Lankan government has introduced new regulations under the Press Council Act to control web sites. Every "news“ website will have to pay Rs. 25000 ($193) to register and Rs. 10,000 every year to maintain the registration.
