It's a matter of record that the Pakistani intelligence service (ISI) wields tremendous power in Pakistan, and has a long history of "playing" the US, the Saudis, and even Iran, in a series of shell games; offering to help find one US soldier is similiar to someone turning in a lost wallet --- as the Titanic is sinking.
