Kessler give a mountain of Romney propaganda instead of a paragraph of clear analysis. The analysis is muzzy, and hides behind the shallow argument of states' rights that is used by republicans at frequent times when they are afraid to address the policy itself. In short, bad journalism.
this isn't journalism; it's factchecking. and while the content is reasonable, the headline's words, 'highly misleading' is itself misleading.in my view. whle the article quotes romney's views as not for federal mandates, but for state-by-state decision-making, clearly he doesn't rule out individual mandates for other states, as he used in his own as governor.
i have had problems with the post's fact-checker's perspectives often of late, and this fits into what i perceive as his tendency to overstate his case, perhaps in the same way those whom he reports on state theirs.
