the focus of the interview seems to be how Putin sees the balance of military versus moral power between presidents Putin's and Bush's countries. As the world's issues mentioned, iran, the arms race, heat-up, this is very appropriate. What's not part of the story is whether or not there was follow-up regarding events within Russia, including the murders of journalists, and the accusations of aggression by former USSR countries, so we don't know if they were not asked or if the answers were part of the 'similar flaws he sees in other nations' .

The story is a relatively thorough and broad interview with Putin. The importance of targeting the missiles again after so many years does not get the emphasis and import in the story that it deserves. MAD cold war escalation as a result of Bush agressive moves seems trivialized when included with a rumored marital dispute.
