Why Eileen Fleming is no longer a Feature Correspondent for The Palestine Telegraph

Cowardice asks the question, "Is it safe?" Expediency asks the question, "Is it politic?" And Vanity comes along and asks the question, "Is it popular?"

"But Conscience asks the question "Is it right?"

"And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must do it because Conscience tells him it is right."-Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. Full Story »

The woman was fired because she would not comply with her editor's stricture not to deal with matters spiritual/ religious AFTER she had written an article doing just so. A retroactive stricture is not justified. What was done was censorship, not editing. If we only read what we agreed with, we learn nothing. I, by the way, am an atheist, not usually interested in matters spiritual/ religious. And yet I thought her article interesting and informative. And yes, the quality of the writing was excellent.
