On Iran, Do Nothing. Yet

Tehran needs to work out its turmoil.

The hyperbole in America and Israel about apocalyptic mullahs with nukes missed the big story in Iran, which was that the mullahs were not apocalyptic, and they were fading in influence anyway. One might have said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is losing its distinct religious basis of power and becoming another Middle Eastern dictatorship—except that it now hosts an opposition movement that does not seem ready to quiet down. This piece would benefit from the simple observation that the Iranian leadership is opposed to nuclear weapons and there is no evidence Iran is secretly developing them.

Thge insane invasion of Iraq was based on knowingly false evidence that Iraq had WMD and posed a "threat" to the US. The Bush administration knew both claims were false, before the war started. The same crew of liars and war profiteers (and delusional "protectors" of Israel, are trying to set up yet another insane war in the Middle East.
