It’s hard for those of us who are white but opened minded to understand this issue. The Gates confrontation in Cambridge hits home. A man in his own home is challenged to prove he belongs. Does the fact he was black and the policemen was white come into play?

An NPR focus group met and was reported on several times during the last presidential election cycle. Over time whites in the group had to face the fact race was an issue. We have much to learn.

Good journalism not only exposes events to the publc but it should also as a responsible organizationthat have compassion for the welfare of this country will opine on solutions for events that are deemed detrimental to this nation such as racism.

We know that racism exists in this nation because the media has written on the subject because it is aways significant news. However, there is one major problem, in the reporting of racism there has never been any opinions on solutions for racism. This article is a prime example.
