Posted by Christopher ChittleboroughAn interesting, informative view into how the US military deals with the insurgency in Iraq. It is a very narrow perspective, without background facts or many statistics.
Good story. Tells how US small unit leaders are establishing connections with the local Iraqis. Company commanders are getting tips and intelligence on their cell phones.
How the U.S. Army in Baghdad is using cell phones and community relationships instead of territorial warfare
An interesting and compelling slice of life in the battlefields of Iraq. There are only two sources, an army captain and a lieutenant colonel. Some of the abbreviations are unclear (JAM, AQIZ). Story would be easier to follow if it were properly copy edited.
