A news report about plans that could have caused a huge outrage in the country if Bushies had realy ordered soldiers to violate several amendments of the constitiution by invading America. Amendments which were reaction to centuries of European soldiers personally harassing ordinary people.

Cheney was born in the wrong decade in the wrong country. He would have wowed 1932 Germany.

Cable news has had a field day with this story, calling Dubya an unlikely hero of civil rights. It does seem Yoo should be disbarred for simple ignorance of U.S. law. Even I know more about Posse Comitatuas than he seems to.

Pet peeve in headline above (though not in the actual story)--using an apostrophe in a plural acronym. NYT does it all the time. Bugs me!

I don't know why I should be surprised by anything to do with the application of executive power by the Bush Administration, but THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. If anyone needed further proof that the Cheney wing of the Bush Admin saw terrorism as an excuse to greedily extend Executive Power over citizens of the U.S., this latest bombshell should do it. I never thought I'd be grateful for the counsel of Condolezza Rice, but in this case…
