very important and very thoughtful and thought-out thesis. frightening in its implications for our own nation and others, already polarized politically if not on religious grounds. The images of the conflict of cultures which includes the internal conflict within the individual is relevant in all parts of the world today. another significant observation is the implication the paradox of more liberal values in a civilization possible leading to the opportunities for the more rigid and dictatorial to take more control.
