Leans in favor of the Blue Dogs with little heard from the mainstream.

Pure and simple the Blue Dogs won. That said the original thought was that the bill had to come out paid for and the committees that did vote out a Bill voted out one that was not paid for- that is the problem. The Blue Dog's were not about to give ground on all actions to cut costs be left to the floor, not totally wrong. The mainstream just refused to take the required / mandated action.

“In the face of exploding debt and deficits, however, we are concerned that too little focus has been given to the need for cost containment,” they wrote.

“It’s a complex, difficult issue,” said Senate majority leader Harry Reid at a mid-day briefing with reporters. “It’s better to have a product that is one based on quality and thoughtfulness rather than pushing something through.” For her part, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that the momentum on healthcare reform is still going forward.

They did not stay on message- that the Bill had to be cost neutral!
