Tenet has played the 'good bureaucrat' when he should have given clear advice...now he is groveling at the altar of PC. Why should anyone believe anything he says when he cannot even acknowledge a basic mistake...the alleged conversation with Perle in DC on 9/12? Tenet served himself only...and that is unforgivable given his position.

this is well-written for the perspective it takes. yet, there is really nothing new here. 'he said, she said.' the problem is, reflecting the last sentence, "telling the whole truth is an impossible standard.", with all the interviews and books and articles about the issues involved in all these stories, it seems as if for the average citizen, discerning truth is almost impossible. I don't fault the reporters who have circled in the waters here except that there doesn't seem to be any new truth to add. At least they are trying.

It is good journalism because it draws on many sources and presents the sources with their relative weights graded.

So, why the fuss? Woodward hasn't had any reputation for veracity since his Vulcan mind-meld with a comatose Bill Casey. Who hires these low-lifes?
