The claims need a little more detail and independent verification before there is too much excitement, but it is a good news story. A nice read, questionable journalism.

It has been shown that the way the inventor took his measurements did not reflect actual power output and his approach does not work. Not to take away from the interest and initiative of a young person, but a good article would have checked up on the invention and discovered the flaws in the experiment instead of only relying on a single source.

the story is interesting in both its information about the correlation between the math and collecting sun, and in its portrayal of young people's freshness in applying their recently acquired understanding math and science to solutions about our world.
