Is this a hastily published blog post that wasn't submitted for any senior editor approval? Perhaps the reporter is an intern? If so, I hope this post is used for learning based on its shortcomings; it has many opportunities for "teachable moments" within it. (Most articles I've read in the Atlantic are much more professionally written than this!)
