Never mind global warming. Peabody Energy CEO Gregory Boyce is betting big on the dirty fuel's durability

As evidence of global warming mounts, companies everywhere are going green. But not Peabody Energy Corp. (BTU ) Gregory H. Boyce, chief executive of the world's biggest coal company, is one of the few prominent opponents of climate regulation whose position hasn't softened one bit in recent months. This is an excellent article that captures many key points -- the strong role that coal will play in our energy mix almost regardless of cost, the cynicism of investors who believe that the public will be fickle regarding environmental protection and don't care and the rejection of scientific evidence by individuals who find it inconvenient or not in line with their preconceived notions.
