Let me remind you of something else. When Samuel Alito was a justice wannabe to replace O'Connor, he reassured lawmakers he'd respect precedent on abortion. When John Roberts talked about his reverence for both precedence and the court, he said he got a "lump in my throat whenever I walked up those marble steps." The story provides background on the supreme court decision on abortion. The dissembling by Roberts and Alioto, the overturning of decided law, and the marketing of the ban against late term abortions by pandering with disgusting images is well described.
