GOP: Saying Millionaires Should Share Pain Is 'Pathetic'

Having the Senate declare that millionaires should share more of the pain involved in putting America's financial house in order is "rather pathetic," Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) declared Tuesday.

This article indicates that the Senate Republicans seem to think that they are in charge of nation even though they are a minority in the Senate and President is a Democratic. Apparently comprise is not in their vocabulary.

Republican policy of, by, and for the rich comes in focus.

We are being governed by the very wealthy, or those who pant after the money of the very wealthy. We need Citizens United overturned via constitutional amendment, and we need publicly financed elections.

This short news article has minimal journalistic merit. The author is unaware of basic economic facts. The top 1% and 5% of earners today pay 37% and 57% of all Federal income taxes today. They do not make enough money to cover a significant portion of the deficit even if they paid it all in taxes. A suggestion to the reporter: whenever Sen Reid says anything, treat it like cowboy poetry. It's all he knows.
