This pieces unfairly asserts the motives of others and makes numerous unsubstantiated claims, not what I am used to from reading Joe Conason in Salon. While Barry Goldwater famously opposed the Civil Rights Act, I find no evidence anywhere that he opposed the Voter Rights Act, as this piece claims. The allegations of Republican fraud are accurate, but it does not include a comparison with Democrat fraud.
