It's always refreshing to read wahy the wealthiest ”give away" their money. And it was especially interesting to note that the late Susie Buffet had played a major role in getting Warren to part with his fortune. In a related story, a few weeks earlier Bill and Melinda Gates announced to the world that tehy were giving away half of his $50 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, becoming the richest endowment in history. It was reported at the time that Melinda had to some some arm twisting to loosen Bill's grip on Microsoft's riches. Nevertheless, not since the days of the 19th century robber barrons Ford, Carnegie, and Rockefeller have we seen anything like this.the prospects of millions may now depend on the largess of both the Buffet and Gates Foundations.Only time can tells us if their humanitarian credentials are beyond question .
