For the past two years, China has protected the Sudanese government as the United States and Britain have pushed for United Nations Security Council sanctions against Sudan for the violence in Darfur.

This story recounts how influential entertainment-business people have used the Olympic spotlight to pressure the Chinese government into paying more attention to Darfur. It's an example of the use of ethos to challenge ethos. One wishes it was possible to get a little deeper on what happened on the Chinese official's trip to Darfur.
