This may be the coming model for news gathering. Rather than expensive "send a reporter to cover that" to covering many stories by developing a cadre of local reporters that meet your standard who rent out to the highest bidder.

The largewt problem with this model is the lack of personal interaction with editors and other staff that provide valuable input that is best done in person.
