What a coincidence that one week after Karl Rove urged Republicans not to make excuses for going to war against Iraq and to put critical Democrats on the defensive, Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), 18 points behind in his re-election efforts, and representative Peter Hoekstra (R-MI) suddenly came up with some report that 500 chemical weapons have been found in Iraq. This posting is one of many out there today about Senator Santorum's assertion yesterday that WMD had be found in Iraq. As reported elsewhere, the Department of Defense has all but repudiated the assertion, stating that the shells found were a cache from the Iran-Iraq war a decade earlier. This posting focuses more on the Fox News show Hannity and Colmes, that featured Santorum and Hoekstra, who also takes credit for the "amazing news."
