Jerusalem court and ultra-Orthodox reach deal - washingtonpost.com

JERUSALEM -- A judge in Jerusalem and leaders of the city's ultra-Orthodox Jewish community agreed Friday to a compromise aimed at ending days of rioting by religious protesters, Israeli police said.

The protesters have been enraged at the arrest of a mentally ill Hasidic woman who authorities say was starving her child. The insular ultra-Orthodox community resents outside interference in its affairs. Full Story »

Under reporting this has been going on for days and no mention till now.

Was surprised that in Israel there is this much violent tension, even if it is the city's insular ultra-Orthodox Jewish community.
