Informative report about the alleged rape of a hotel maid by former IMF director Dominique Strauss-Kahn. While the report appears factual and fair, it is concerning that it is largely based on anonymous sources. This makes it really hard for readers to verify whether or not the alleged events really took place as described. I understand this is an ongoing investigation, but I would have expected more transparency and independent perspectives in this particular story.

Solomon seems to be attempting to report facts. Trial by the press of allegations is always a bit questionable, and Strauss-Kahn's defense, if any, is not reported here. The story at least conveys that the charges are serious and supports any public call for equal justice under law in a case involving a wealthy and powerful alleged criminal.

The story starts with the DNA evidence. It goes on to give a far more complete picture than other news sites I have seen which focused almost entirely on the Big Shot rather than on the maid. Here we hear about the maid.
