Of course, computer models aren't perfect and few of us have the right degrees to evaluate the settings on the one used here. But the scientists quoted are careful to limit their predictions to the (big) regional temperature changes predicted by their computer models. Like the rest of us, until more research is done, they can only speculate as to the impact that will have on people and other species.
