World 'failed Gaza over Israeli blockade' - aid groups

Aid agencies have strongly criticised the international community for failing to help bring an end to Israel's blockade of Gaza.

The charities made the accusation in a report published just ahead of the anniversary of Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip.

It's too short to have any quality - doesn't cite specific agencies, etc. It also fails to mention that there is also a blockade from the Egyptian side of the border.

Actually Gaza was a humanitarian disaster long before Hamas took over, and long before the Israelis inherited it from the Egyptians. It's so densely populated that it's almost impossible not to have civilian casualties, even when Hamas isn't using schools and hospitals to fire at Israeli troops. Excellent quick read. How tiresome that the Israeli spokesman repeats the essentially false claim that Hamas seeks to destroy Israel.

Most US media have not reported the fact the Nigerian bomber in Detroit and the "Jordanian" bomber in Afghanistan who took out the CIA agents, were both motivated by a deep desire to punish the US for aiding and abetting Israeli oppression of the Palestinians - - especially in Gaza.

Its a boilerplate BBC file and weasel-worded on the question of potential war crimes due the collective punishment of Gaza civilians. The BBC reports the charities call for more pressure to be exerted on Israel 'to end what they describe as its illegal collective punishment of Gazans.' But for all the BBC's vast reporting assets, it seems not to have insights on this important issue.
