Posted by Jon MitchellPoor journalism. Represents an ignorant opinion against Nuclear Power. "In some places, highly radioactive spent fuel is stockpiled in what amounts to swimming pools located beside reactors." This is said as if it is a problem. But it is not a problem. Only someone ignorant of the workings of a nuclear facility would cite this as a problem. A pool of water is a highly efficient radiation shield and coolant for spent fuel rods. Cheap, abundant, effective...where's the problem? A-hole.
A singular lack of context. How much damage has nuclear done, in terms of lives and environmental, in the U.S. in 60 years? How much has coal done in the last year? Answer those two questions and you will spit on this reporter's grave with me.
