an examination of how race reared its head for Republicans during Sotomayor's confirmation hearing. As the author suggests at the end, this may all be much ado about nothing, as she will likely be confirmed handily.

I'm stunned by how daft so many Republican Senators are to issues of race. I also think that the best we can hope for from them is political correctness, while we wait for a new generation of leaders who are able to look beyond their white privilege, or have no white priviledge to look beyond.
