New Netscape.com focuses on news

Netscape is expected to relaunch its Web site on Thursday, transforming from a general purpose portal into a news site in which both readers and editors choose the content.

[Disclaimer: I write for the Open Source Technology Group, of which slashdot.org is a part. My work has appeard in slashdot.-RA] I found this a piece little more than your standard announcement. It certainly didn't present much of a perspective from (mentioned and supposed) competitors del.icio.us, slashdot or digg. It completely ignored the existence of places like plastic.
