When Secrecy Is a Weapon

US officials hurt our democracy by withholding information from the courts but then disclosing it to the public whenever it suits their needs.

the American public surely has a right to know that the assassination of terrorism suspects is now official government policy - and reflects an opportunistic approach to allegedly sensitive information that has become the norm for senior government officials.
