The title seems to advocate escalation of US conducted assassinations in Yemen, the last paragraph provides a reason why that may be a bad idea. Schizo, with no deep analysis of Yemen and it's recent history.

This article is a bit of a disappointment, given the importance to the reader of learning more about why Yemen is a threat. Sappenfield provides a broad outline of the issues, but not enough detail, like what constitutes the "trappings of a functional government," and why does Yemen "appear to be an eager partner for the U.S."? Why do the Yemenis like us? The few typos also weakens the piece.

A short statement of what has happened (drove out Al Qaeda in the past, now internal problems have prompted Al Qaeda to return, current government wants/needs help). A presentation of the inherent risks, namely that bombing will kill the innocent.
