Lots of sources, well written. Covers many sides of the story. Does not identify "a freelance videographer" as Josh Wolfe. A tiny bit of opinion (look for "perhaps").

While this is a well presented article analyzing the "chill" effect that the Libby trial will have on the realtionship between journalists and their anonymous sources, it is less than candid regarding the role of the "shill" effect in wich journalists allowed themselves to become uncritical conduits for government information and ultimately witnesses in court.

While I admire the story and agree the "chill" effect needs to be discussed, I sense this is angled toward journalistic comfort. The issue of leakers "gaming" journalists is mentioned but not properly weighted by the author.

This will pass as satisfactory journalism. It states the case in an appropriate sentiment. It also shows how deep the news has slid into cohabitation with this regime. I have no mercy for these individuals. They allowed themselves to be pulled into the Bush/Cheney mud mire without the slightest of whimpers and actually yelling and screaming the perils of Hussein right along with Bush and Cheney. Now that they are being used as scapegoats for info in investigations only shows the depths of their culpability and news reporting capabilities.
