The author says that the banks are profiting from this sorry state of affairs. He is wrong. The banks are profiteering from it. The sooner these charlatans are tied up in strict legislation and the worst of them put in jail, the better. America's power is rooted in the huge energy liberated in an egalitarian society. As she becomes less and less egalitarian and as the Middle East and the Orient becomes more so, the power shifts as well. In a few decades the repository of true democracy may be east of Aden.
