Dionne looks at the apparent strategy of the Republican party in attempts to defend the extreme right wing corporatist supreme court justices installed by neocons during the bush years.

Replacing only the rational judges is a defensive strategy. The right wing ideologues need to be replaced to regain a respectable supreme court.
