The mother of an 11-year-old girl is unhappy with the way the rules division of international soccer's governing body handled the issue of Muslim girls wearing traditional headgear during organized matches.

Even in Canada? Blatchford doesn't sensationalize the event or offer his opinion but does connect prejudice and systemic discrimination to ancient 'rules'.

The story only shows the obvious half of the story, as there is hardly no reason given for the girl not being allowed to wear the headdress and no reason why it should be so important that she wears it. That some traditionalists claim that it belongs to her religion seems totally fake as many girls in islamic countries never wear anything like this for instance.
