This is a simple and simple-minded hatchet job. This is not a discussion of what was said and/or what it meant. It is a discussion of the reporter's feelings about what was said. No logic supporting the position. No voices other than her own. No thoughtful consideration of what might be construed by the statement other than her outrage opinion. And she leaps to a conclusion that I don't see supported in the transcript. Interestingly, this is the only story on Google News that mentions this. Pure hatchet work.

This is an intentional smear that willfully misinterprets the quotes it puts before us. Maher very specifically said he was quoting the statements and that they were not his feelings. The comments following the article tend to make the edited remarks that Mahrer was quoting look a little tame. All the while lamenting the lack of civility on the left. Quite ironic.

Barney Frank, as left as one can get, even tried to steer Maher back on the track. This is such a poor attempt at humor on Maher's part.
