Interesting article about an under-reported topic, thogh possibly biased. Provides useful evidence to back its points, but no opposing views. This suggests the possibility that the authors are so eager to present their theory that they may have neglected fairness and balance in the course of their investigation. Would love to hear more from independent observers who know about this subject, but are not taking sides.

Well written and extensive review of the state of global surveillance measures that threaten democratic values. This story makes the suspension of habeas corpus at Guantanemo seem almost like the tip of an iceberg, while this article outlines the whole iceberg. I have to wonder, who would they even contact to get a comment from the other side on this massive issue? Major story!

If this was actually a journalist writing it would be worthy, but clearly this important summary is the work of a team. Although there is editorial bias in the site, this particular piece is seemingly concerned with the facts and is very accessible. One suspects individual journalists will be taking up many of the points in due course.

Obviously, this is a not going to be a "fair" piece, but it is excellent in bringing up issues in a way that needs to be discussed and debated on. Very informative.
