Once again a story using past election results to look forward. There is no mention of the lack of involvement of Republicans members of Congress on this issue and other major issues. Yes Congress is broken but that is shared by both parties. This article is not fair and lacking important information.

this is an important plausible analysis for democrats going into the election next year. mr. balz points out the toll the health care reform process has taken on congressional democrats, even if it passes. also involved are americans unhappy with the economy (the deficit, bailout of banks and unemployment.

to me, while this makes sense, it doesn't seem fair. this congress didn't create the situations and the media spread of the distortions and false information about the health care bill and they and those who have worked to try to stabilize the economy, and citizens who supported them will likely pay a large price for their work.

This is an assessmnet of the projected political ramifications Democrates will feel due to negative public perception of passing a health care bill.
